About Bill Cowles 

Bill Cowles has served the voters of Orange County since 1989; first as Chief Deputy for 7 years and then elected as Supervisor of Elections in 1996. Bill also served 13 years on the staff of the Central Florida Council Boy Scouts of America prior to joining the Elections Office.  Bill supervises the fifth largest county Elections Office in the State of Florida.

 Bill is actively involved in professional associations such as Florida Supervisors of Elections, previously serving as president; Elections Center; and past president of the International Association of Government Officials. He also has served on the Federal Elections Assistance Commission Board of Advisors.

 Bill is a proud graduate of the University of Central Florida with a degree in Public Administration in 1976. Bill is also active in his church and the community.  He is an elder at Quest Church, an Eagle Scout and board member of the Central Florida Council BSA, a member of the UCF Public Administration Advisory Board, and a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of North Orlando.

 Outside of elections, Bill’s favorite past time is his family. He has been married to Cheryl since 1978.  They are proud to have two married sons and four grandsons.
